I was friends with this girl throughout high school. She was raised in a fairly strict Orthodox Greek home, and had pretty close-minded views. When I came out to everyone, she was one of the friends I worried about losing because of my sexuality. And, while it didn’t exactly maim our friendship, she made some comments that were mildly offensive and completely ignorant. But that was the kind of person she was. I’m not saying ignorance is acceptable, by any means. It was just part of her charm. She is hilariously blunt, and will say the things you know everyone is thinking. 

Anyway, this message made me smile. It’s been two years since we graduated, and for the most part, we’ve lost touch. She’s not a person who tends to be very aware of the consequences of her words, and I like that after all this time she’s rethinking things like that.
